PARQ - Green, intelligent and connected urban platform

Entering

Parksen is an easily adaptable Green, Smart and Connected City Platform, accessible through a public API and fully running on the existing Parkens Parking Cloud. Using the Ethereum flowchart, IOTA Tangle and our own PARQ utility tokens, we will offer a variety of solutions and intelligent contracts that will be directly useful to a wide range of stakeholders in urban cities and small cities.

Parking is important

Car parking literally steals the most valuable asset each individual has: time.

There are several studies that estimate the amount of time we spend searching for available parking space. Of course, it strongly depends on where you are. For example, according to a study in Lyon and Paris (France), people spend an average of 10-12 minutes looking for a place to park. Another study in the UK shows that the average time spent searching for a parking space is 7 minutes, but there is a high variability. In some areas of London, lost time can grow to 20 minutes. 20 minutes is also the assessment of Dr. Jean-Paul Rodrigue from Hofstra University (New York), the author of the book “Geography of Transport Systems”.

To present this in perspective, even if we take one of the more optimistic estimates (say, 10 minutes) and consider a driver who parks his car several times a month (say, 5 times), all this is up to 600 minutes a year. This is 10 hours a year, wasted looking for a place to park the car.

Car parking is an additional source of traffic and pollution.

The main reference to this argument is the article by Professor Donald Shoup from UCLA (here you can read an abstract article). This is a source widely quoted in the industry because he estimates that 30% of the traffic in US cities is related to cars seeking parking space. 30% now assesses the impact of car parking on city traffic, also used when talking about other cities, especially in Europe.

And, of course, more traffic means more pollution. As you walk around trying to find an affordable parking spot, your car’s CO2 emissions are higher than they would be if you could just drive to your place and go on to what will happen next day. For example, in France, it is estimated that parking accounts for about 14% of the greenhouse gas emitted each year.

And now you already know why parking is important, because when drivers search for parking, they will spend a lot of time and make more pollution. That is why Parksen presents a solution that will help drivers find a parking space in the simplest and most efficient way.

Parksen services are divided between our Parkens app in real time, from which a modest MVP already exists, and the Green, Smart & Connected City Platform.

Using the Ethereum flowchart, intelligent contracts, universal registration and a variety of IoT devices, we will create a truly sustainable and intelligent city development platform. Thanks to the data collected, we will be able to fight against the ever-increasing levels of congestion and pollution, which are detrimental to life in large metropolitan cities and small towns.

The Parksen parking application will use the same data to indicate available and accessible places for drivers, while municipalities, garages, companies and other users of the urban platform can use the data to improve their own infrastructures.

Key Features

Real-time parking application

The Parkens parking application is made for drivers, and this allows them to reserve in advance and pay for parking, which limits their search and emotional compulsion. The app also shows them the fast-track route to their destination and provides real-time information about local overloads.

Green, intelligent and connected urban platform

The Parksen City platform is equipped with a universal dashboard that tracks congestion, pollution, use and condition of parking spaces, the status of connected IoT devices and sensors. It also includes a market for green and smart appliances.

Cloud solution

Parksen's goal is to connect municipalities and companies to consumers and garages. Implementing a single, convenient and cloud-based platform ensures that these institutions should not be dependent on expensive third-party software softand updates.

Marker PARQ

Parksen's own special token that can be used in an application to pay for and receive payment for parking activities, as well as on the dashboard and on the market to pay and receive payment for tough software that will help your city, company or garage to contribute to more environmentally friendly cities.
