PARQ

Introducing

Parksen is a green, smart, connected, easy-to-adopt, green city platform that can be accessed through a public API and running completely in the existing Parksen parking cloud. By using the Ethereum blockchain, the IOTA Tangle and our own PARQ utility tokens, we will offer a variety of smart solutions and contracts that will directly benefit a broad spectrum of stakeholders within urban metropolises and smaller cities.

Parking is important.

Car parking literally steals the most valuable asset that each individual has: time.

There is little research that estimates the amount of time we spend looking for an available parking space. Of course, this depends to a large extent on where you are. For example, this research estimates that in Lyon and Paris (France), people spend an average of 10 to 12 minutes looking for a parking space. Other research conducted in the United Kingdom estimates that the average time dedicated to finding a parking space is 7 minutes, however, there is great variability. In some areas of London, the lost time could grow to 20 minutes. 20 minutes is also the estimate given by Dr. Jean-Paul Rodrigue of the University of Hofstra (New York), author of the book The Geography Of Transport Systems.
To put this in perspective, even if we take one of the most optimistic estimates (say 10 minutes), and consider a driver who parks his car several times a month (say 5 times), everything adds up to 600 minutes a year. That is 10 hours each year lost looking for a parking space.

Parking is an additional source of traffic and pollution.

The main reference for this argument is an article by Prof. Donald Shoup of UCLA (you can read an abstract article here). It is a widely cited source in the industry, since it estimates that 30% of traffic in US cities. UU It's because cars are looking for a parking space. The 30% is now an estimate of the impact of car parking on city traffic that is also used when talking about other cities, particularly in Europe.
And, of course, more traffic means more pollution. While driving around in circles looking for an available parking spot, your car's CO2 emissions are higher than they would be if you could drive to your place and move on to what follows in your day. In France, for example, it is estimated that parking represents around 14% of the greenhouse gases emitted each year.

And now you already know why parking is important, because when drivers look for parking, they will spend a lot of time and generate more pollution. This is the reason why Parksen presents a solution that will help drivers find a parking space in the easiest and most efficient way.
Parksen's services are divided between our Parksen parking application in real time, of which there is already a modest MVP, and the Green, Intelligent and Connected City Platform.
Using the Ethereum blockchain, smart contracts, a universal ledger and a variety of IoT devices, we will create a truly sustainable and smart city development platform. With the data collected, we will be able to fight against the constantly increasing levels of traffic congestion and pollution that are damaging life in large urban metropolises and small cities alike.
Parksen's parking application will use the same data to guide drivers to available and affordable places, while municipalities, parking lots, companies and other City Platform users can use the data to improve their own infrastructures.

Main features

Real-time parking

application The Parksen parking application is made for drivers, and allows them to reserve and pay for parking in advance, which limits their search and emotional pressure. The application also shows them the fasting route to their destination and offers real-time information on local congestion.

Green, smart and connected

city platform The Parksen city platform comes with a universal dashboard that tracks congestion, pollution, use and condition of parking spaces, the status of connected IoT devices and sensors. It also includes a market for green and smart appliances.

Solution in the cloud

The objective of Parksen is to connect town halls and companies with consumers and garages. By offering a single platform, suitable for everyone, adoptable and in the cloud, we make sure that these institutes do not depend on costly hardware and software updates from third parties.

The PARQ

card The special Parksen card can be used in the application to pay and receive payments for parking shares, and also on the panel and in the market to pay and receive payments for hardware and software that will help your city, company or garage to contribute to greener cities.
